September speciality programs are open to all Bronze, Silver and Gold skaters. 

Sessions will be divided into Gold/Silver (high school skaters) and Silver/Bronze (grade school skaters). Please consult with your coach if you are unsure what session to register your skater for.

Sessions will run Monday and Thursday evenings from September 8th-18th, 2025.

All Sessions are full coached by Speciality Coaches noted below.

Synchro

Monday September 8th
Coach: Nicole Hankin

Nicole skated on the Royal Blades Junior National Team in Barrie, from 1998 to 2001, where she reached a significant milestone in 2001, when the team earned the National Junior Silver Medal, qualifying them for Junior World Championships. In 2001, Nicole transitioned to the Senior National Team, Nexxice, based in Burlington, where she would compete for nearly a decade until 2010.  In that time the team secured three National Bronze Medals, one National Silver Medal, and three consecutive National Championships. Nicole’s international achievements helped Nexxice earn World Bronze Medals in both 2007 and 2008. After retiring from competitive skating in 2010, Nicole channeled her expertise and passion into coaching throughout Simcoe County working with a wide range of categories, including Beginner, Juvenile, Pre-Novice, and Adult, coaching skaters aged 5 to 55.


Spin Technique

Thursday September 11th
Coach: Chrissy Mantle-Marnoch

Chrissy has been a part of the Huntsville Skating Club for over 30 years, 12 as a skater and is entering her 18th as a coach.  Chrissy is ISPC certified (formerly level 2) and now that her children are older she is starting her journey into level 3.  Chrissy loves teaching all levels of skating from Learn to Skate to Adult and is a Certified in Power skating. She has accompanied many of her students to competitions at all levels including Local, Sectional, Provincial and the Skate Canada's Challenge. Technique is very important in her lessons and she likes to teach that technique in a positive and challenging environment. 


Edges/Foundational Skating Skills

Monday September 15th
Coach: Mitchell Islam


Mitch grew up training at Mariposa School of Skating and was a competitive ice dancer for over 15 years, representing Canada. He and partner Alexandra Paul competed in 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, as well as at multiple Grand Prix events, 4 Continents Championships and World Championships. Since retiring from competition in 2017, Mitch has found a new passion for sharing his knowledge and helping shape the next generation of skaters. Mitch is a mainstay in the Mariposa Ice Dance program, but he also trains and choreographs for singles, pairs and synchro skaters.


Jump Technique/Harness

Thursday September 18th
Coach: Michael Hopfes

Michael is an Olympic, NCCP & Skate Canada National Coach. He specializes in singles, jump technique, spins, and on and off ice harness. Michael has over 25 years of coaching experience and he has been incredibly successful in developing skaters at the Olympic, World, International, National and Local levels including Special Olympic Skaters. As a World Championship and International skater himself Michael understands his skaters and exactly what it takes to compete at the very highest level in the world. During his amateur career, he competed in multiple International competitions at the Senior and Junior levels as well as in World and Junior World Championships.
