CanSkate and StarSkate Coach for 2021-2022 Season

The Orillia Figure Skating Club ( is a Skate Canada sanctioned, volunteer-run club at Rotary Place and Brian Orser Arena in Orillia, Ontario.  Since 1951, we have been running programs suitable for everyone from beginner (children and adult) to the most skilled skater.

Thank you to all who applied for the position of Club Coach to join our team starting for the 2021/2022 Season.

All Candidates have been interviewed and contacted.

The Orillia Figure Skating Club runs sessions from September to May and offers programs up to 6 days per week.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who embraces a team coaching environment under the guidance of our Head Coach and can collaboratively work towards the development of skaters at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certified Regional Coach status or higher
  • Registered : To be a registered Skate Canada Professional Coach, full payment is required of all registration fees and insurance premiums annually by Skate Canada
  • In Good Standing : To be Registered Skate Canada Professional Coach in Good Standing, the following is required:
    • Must hold a valid first aid certificate
    • Screening must be done through the company approved by Skate Canada. Following review of results of the screening, the status must show a "Clear" in the Skate Canada profile of the coach.
    • NCCP certified coaches must maintain a renewed NCCP certification status as per Coaching Association of Canada's (CAC) Maintenance of Certification Policy.
    • Have agreed to the Skate Canada Code of Ethics
    • Completed the Respect in Sport Activity Leader Training. A coach must be re-certified in this training every 3 years.
